Kedar is Founder and CEO of ARC Energy, a renewable energy company whose mission is to develop and commercialize several innovative technologies that will help provide a clean, sustainable environment for our current and future generations. Previously, Kedar was a Co-Founder of GT Solar (also known as GTi). In October 2002, GT Solar moved into its brand-new 60,000 square foot facility in Merrimack, NH, and is one of the fastest growing small businesses in New England. The company designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains high-technology semi-custom and specialty equipment for the “high-end” of the photovoltaic and semiconductor industries. In 2006, GT Solar went public on NASDAQ (NASDAQ: SOLR). Today, GT Solar achieves annual revenues of more than $500 million and employs more than 300 employees.
Prior to forming GTi, Kedar was the VP and General Manager of the Systems Equipment Division of Ferrofluidics Corporation, where he grew the business from under 5% market share to more than 60% in a five-year period.
Kedar received his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Material Science from State University of New York, Stony Brook, and his MBA from Lindenwood Colleges, St. Charles, MO. He is a graduate of IIT Kanpur in Metallurgy ’68 batch.
