With this news, members of the open source community can download this new technology free of charge in either ISO or VMware format.

Just weeks after the public launch of rPath X6, rPath, the service factory for on-demand IT, today announced continued momentum for its flagship product. rPath X6 is a release automation platform that easily and quickly automates the delivery and management of applications and other software systems across physical, virtual and cloud environments.

rPath, the service factory for on-demand IT, today announced that it has been named a “Cool Vendor” in the “Cool Vendors in Release Management, 2011” report by Gartner, Inc.1 This report highlights companies that are “offering control and execution capabilities in tools that feature different approaches and capabilities to increase automation and reduce variation in the application lifecycle.”
