Press for rPath

Organizations are looking at the self service provisioning and management features being offered by cloud providers and have decided that they could reduce their overall costs of IT administration if they could use something similar for their own systems regardless of if they are physical, virtual or hosted in the cloud somewhere.  Recently, rPath dropped by to tell me about their newest software release. They appear to be offering something that just might hit the spot.

rPath, the service factory for on-demand IT, today announced that rPath X6, its newly-launched flagship product, now supports OpenStack and VMware vCloudDirector for private and hybrid cloud computing environments. OpenStack is the open source cloud operating system and emerging open cloud standard backed by more than 50 organizations and contributors across the globe. VMware vCloud Director allows enterprises and service providers to build and operate secure clouds.

rPath, the service factory for on-demand IT, today announced that it has been named an OnDemand Top 100 award winner by AlwaysOn. Inclusion in the OnDemand 100 signifies industry leadership and recognition for game-changing approaches that are likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players.

RPath has added a drag-and-drop interface to its software stack building system, now called rPathX6, to make it easier to build a virtual appliance or other software stack and track each of its configurations.
