Press for Yottaa

After several days of recent downtime with Amazon Web Services, the promise to optimize websites via the cloud may seem both promising and daunting to small businesses. But that's what the Cambridge-based Yottaa is offering with the launch today of a new Web performance optimization service. Yotta knows its way around the cloud, as it was one of the finalists in Amazon's recent Startup Challenge.

Yottaa, Inc., a provider of innovative cloud services which deliver website acceleration and Web performance monitoring, today announced that a significant milestone has been achieved: over 30,000 websites are now being monitored for performance by Yottaa. Yottaa’s web performance monitoring service, Yottaa Insight ™, was launched in September 2010. Since then, thousands of users have configured the service to monitor over 30,000 domains.

A few years ago, venture capitalist Larry Bohn thought everyone talking about “cloud computing” had their heads in the clouds.  “These things start with everybody talking about it, and nobody knows what it is,” said Bohn, managing director of Cambridge’s General Catalyst Partners. “But it’s no longer a collective hallucination. People know what it is, and it works.”

Yottaa helps website owners improve their websites by identifying speed and performance issues. Users can access overall performance and see how their site did against their competitors. Yottaa provides users with real time updates and email notifications. The application also provides suggestions and tips for improving website speed and performance.
