Jumptap, the leader in targeted mobile advertising, today announced that Todd Anderman has been named Chief Media and Revenue Officer. Anderman brings extensive experience leading successful digital businesses for major media companies. He will continue in his current role as SVP Digital Media at Hachette Filipacchi Media through the end of 2010. He will become Chief Media and Revenue Officer at Jumptap on January 1, 2011 and will remain in NYC.

Wireless carriers, which have been sitting on a largely untouched goldmine of user data, may be poised to start tapping into their mother lode, according to Chris Dixon, CEO and co-founder of recommendation and personalization site Hunch. Dixon said he’s been meeting with operators that are looking at deploying Hunch to help with recommendations and personalization.

George Bell is probably best-known as the CEO of pioneering Web portal Excite, and later as chief executive of Excite@Home, following the merger of Excite and cable broadband service @Home. But Bell also founded The Outdoor Life Network (now cable channel Versus Network), has served as an executive at Times Mirror Magazines and was chief executive of college savings platform Upromise before joining Boston-based venture capital firm General Catalyst.
