Press for Trover

Trover, Inc., today announced that its free mobile app Trover will serve as an authoritative visual guide for remarkable things to see, do, eat, and experience at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, March 9-18, 2012. Trover is the perfect app to discover fun things to do and see at SXSW in an instant. The interface shows off Austin's hidden gems and local charm in an interactive photo mosaic while providing users directions on how to get there. Attendees can connect with their friends and share tips on their favorite spots with ease. Trover is also hosting multiple free arts and entertainment events for locals and conference-goers (details below).

Trover is a mobile local discovery app (iOS & Android) that is built around geotagged images. It was founded by Karas, Andrew Coldham, and Expedia (and Zillow) founder Rich Barton; and it's backed by General Catalyst, Ignition, and Benchmark Capital.

Trover, Inc. a company created for explorers worldwide, today announced new features for its SoLoMo app designed specifically to help build communities around discoveries. These include "Lists" that allow users to create collections of things to do, @Name Tags to tag friends in discovery comments and invite them to see and share activities of common interest, and a redesigned News Feed to tune-in to friends and their latest Trover activity.

A free app for iPhone, Android and desktop uses geotargeting to let users share photos of places they come across in their travels and use other's images to explore neighborhoods. Trover also could be a potential platform for location-based deals.
