Press for CCP Games
CCP, one of the world’s leading independent game developers, and NAMCO BANDAI Partners S.A.S. today announced an agreement for the UK and German distribution of a new retail edition of the award-winning science fiction masterpiece EVE Online. Distributed by NAMCO BANDAI Partners, the updated retail pack of the popular sci-fi MMORPG is entitled EVE Online: Commissioned Officer Edition and is coming this December with unrivalled new player support.
Never content to rest on their laurels, Icelandic developers CCP are inviting all former players of EVE Online back into the game, for free, for five days. Why? Mostly because they've finally taken their spit-and-polish back to the game's avatars, and they're so proud of the way you can make your character look now, that they'd like you to come back and take a look for yourself.
Where were you at about 3:30 on Sunday morning? Up to some hijinks, no doubt? No no, it's okay, I'm not with the police (anymore) - I was just wondering if you were one of the 3,242 people taking part in the single largest EVE Online battle in recorded history. Yes, you read that right - over three thousand people in the one battle, an achievement of such singluar delight that the good folks here at Massive Attack couldn't help but slow down and gawk curiously.
Sister publication Game Developer magazine has announced twenty 'companies to watch' for 2010-2011 in its recently debuted October 2010 issue, and Gamasutra is reprinting them with highlights from each profile.
