Press for CCP Games

CCP is a pretty polarizing topic in MMO circles these days. Whether you love or hate the studio's flagship EVE Online title and the community that surrounds it, one thing you can't say is that the devs lack a work ethic. Today marks the release of EVE's17th expansion, and when we say expansion, we don't mean a glorified content patch that's been dipped in PR sauce.
Inferno boasts a reworked war declaration system, substantial faction warfare updates, a new mercenary marketplace, enhanced graphics, new missile and launcher effects, and a host of other features focusing on everything from inventory to new modules and ship balancing.

EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, announced today that it has become a member of the Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2), an organization of 95 industry-leading companies in the semiconductor, electronic systems and electronic design automation (EDA) industries.
By joining Si2, EVE will have an opportunity to work cooperatively with other EDA tool providers on the development and adoption of standards to improve verification methodologies.

Guild Launch is running an Eve Online Top Site contest. Guild Launch is looking for the top corp, guild, gaming or fansite on their platform and elsewhere. Promotional prize packages include graphics cards, Steel Series headsets and Guild Launch’s hosting services. The contest is open to all players of any game and an external voting widget is available for use on any site hosted anywhere. The top site will be awarded prizes as well as randomly selected voters. Anyone can enter, anyone can vote and anyone can win. This contest will run until June 30, 2012 and is live on the Guild Launch community site at

At the end of March, developer CCP announced quite an exciting offer for players of Eve Online. A deal had been signed with Nvidia to allow Eve’s in-game Pilot License Extension (PLEX) currency to be used to purchase a real-world GeForce GTX 560 graphics card.
