Press for Brightcove

Some 500 video industry executives from around the globe will descend on Boston next week for Brightcove's three-day PLAY conference.  It will be the first conference run by Brightcove and the show is sold out.

Cleeng, awarded last week “Best B to B startup” during The Next Web Conference, today announced it has partnered with Brightcove, the leading online video enterprise platform, to provide a in-video monetization solution specially designed for enterprises. In-video monetization enables publishers to collect payment for watching all or part of a video.

There are several dozen online video platforms in the market today, but there are only a few that pop up as competitors for almost all of the biggest deals. One of them, of course, is Brightcove, which on Monday did a little well-earned chest thumping with its announcement that the company had been award Patent No. 7,925,973, for an array of facets of online publishing and distribution of digital media, including styleable player experiences, rights management, affiliate syndication, advertising policies and analytics.

Brightcove announced Monday that it has been granted its first U.S. patent, covering the publishing and distribution of digital media online. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded U.S. Patent Number 7,925,973 to Brightcove, giving some backing to the online video distribution firm’s intellectual property.
