Former Republican gubernatorial contender Charles Baker is returning to the private sector as a venture capitalist aimed at building smaller companies.  Underscoring his wild side, the famous air guitarist also said he's entering a "Dancing with the Stars" competition this weekend.  In an e-mail to friends and supporters this morning, the former Harvard Pilgrim Health Care president said he was joining Cambridge-based General Catalyst as "executive in residence."

Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Charlie Baker announced today he has a new job advising a Cambridge-based venture capital firm, saying he wants to take on a mentor role “instead of taking a leadership role at a large organization.”

Four months after his failed Massachusetts gubernatorial bid, Charlie Baker has landed a private-sector job at a Cambridge venture capital firm.
The former Harvard Pilgrim Health Care CEO is now an “executive in residence” for General Catalyst Partners. He’ll focus on working with small and midsize health-care services companies for the VC firm, which has $1.7 billion under management across five funds.

The party at the top of the world approaches, and some very excited (and lucky) EVE Online players are gearing up to head for Iceland to see the company, people, and land from which their favorite game originates. It's a pilgrimage many pilots look forward to enjoying each year. Whether it's hot PvP action, panels and roundtable discussions, or just the idea of getting to go pub crawling with CCP devs in an incredibly picturesque location, there's a ton for the EVE Online devotee to look forward to. For the non-EVE partners who go along, the Sisters of EVE tour similarly offers tons of interesting things to do.
