Big Fish Games, a leading developer, producer and distributor of casual games, today announced that its president and chief executive officer, Jeremy Lewis, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2010 Award in the Technology category in the Pacific Northwest. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Mr. Lewis was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel on June 18, 2010.

Starting June 29 players of CCP Games' sci-fi MMO, EVE Online, will have the chance to receive a free ship. The Primae is a vessel specifically designed to aid in the recently added option for players to extract minerals from the surfaces of planets. Until July 13 players can log in and receive one of the new vessels.

Raytheon Company's BBN Technologies has been awarded an additional $17 million in funding by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the final year of the five-year Global Autonomous Language Exploitation (GALE) program.

Iceland's Actavis Group didn't succeed in its bid to buy the German generics maker Ratiopharm, but it has nabbed the company's former chief executive. Actavis has chosen the ex-chief of Ratiopharm, Claudio Albrecht, as its own new CEO.
