OnForce, the trusted online services marketplace that empowers businesses to find highly skilled local service technicians, today announced that OnForce received the Channel Insider Bull's Eye Award, recognizing the company as a Champion for Channel Support Service. OnForce pioneered the online services marketplace more than five years ago. Fifteen students from MIT's Sloan School of Management will visit five different companies during the school's Massachusetts Tech Trek. One of them, Microsoft, is publicly-traded. The others include Kayak (a travel site you may have actually heard of), HubSpot, DemandWare, and Rapid7, a Boston-based "IT vulnerability management" company with about 100 employees.

Initially, Siena Biotech SpA will roll the QUMAS applications out to 30 users.

Brightcove Inc., the leading online video platform, today announced that David Mendels has been named president and chief operating officer. Mendels is an exceptional leader with nearly two decades of experience building some of the most successful Internet software platforms and businesses. Mendels will be responsible for driving Brightcove's global expansion strategy and operations. Mendels comes to Brightcove most recently from Adobe where he was instrumental in accelerating the adoption of key platform technologies, including Flash, Flex, Acrobat and LiveCycle, into must haves for today's enterprises and into a thriving billion dollar business for Adobe. Mendels will also continue to be a member of the Brightcove Board of Directors, which he joined in late 2008.
