As the field of mobile advertising ages and matures, a particular notion has been getting more and more attention. The idea is that consumers should have more control over what advertising they see on their devices. Massive mobile ad network Jumptap has today announced a new service it is calling “consumer intelligence”, which gives consumers more choice when it comes to the ads served to them over the Jumptap network. I interviewed Jumptap CMO Paran Johar to get an insight into the service.
With mobile advertising growing in importance to any business involved with mobile communications, one company is looking to deliver advertisements that people may actually want to receive and potentially interact with. The service from Jumptap allows people to select the content of the ads that are displayed as they surf the Web on their mobile devices.
Google Inc. is in talks to acquire ITA Software Inc., a maker of travel programs used by companies including Orbitz Worldwide Inc. and Microsoft Corp., three people familiar with the matter said. ITA Software, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, may seek about $1 billion, said two of the people, who asked not to be identified because the discussions haven’t been made public. The talks may not lead to a transaction, said the people.
In an effort to keep its market momentum going, online video management startup Brightcove has announced that it hired a new senior vice president of sales for North America. Former EMC and Savvis executive Paul Goetz will be joining Brightcove’s executive team to keep its sales organization growing while driving customer acquisition in its home market.
