Brian Shortsleeve

Brian develops investments in later-stage companies that are at a key inflection point and need a value-added partner to help accelerate growth. His areas of special focus include: buyouts, leveraged recapitalizations, and growth equity investments in industries such as business services, technology, energy, value-added manufacturing, and IT services.

Prior to joining GC, Brian was at H.I.G. Capital, a middle-market private equity fund where he worked on a variety of buyout transactions in the business services, IT services, value-added manufacturing, and gaming industries. Before H.I.G. Capital, he was a consultant with Bain & Company in Boston, advising middle-market corporate clients on growth strategy, merger integration, and cost rationalization. Brian also worked in Bain's private equity group performing competitive, market, and profitability analysis on new deals and on portfolio investments. Before attending business school, he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps for four years.

Brian is a graduate of Harvard College, earning a B.A. in History and Harvard Business School, where he received an MBA.
