Molly Blaauw Gillis


Molly is a principal and director of the XIR program, responsible for leading and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the program, managing the XIR candidate sourcing and recruiting process, onboarding XIRs, serving as a liaison between XIRs and the GC community, and overseeing marketing of the XIR program. Molly is based in the firm's Cambridge office.

Most recently, Molly was director of communications at Leerink Partners where she ran marketing, PR and internal communications.  Prior to that, she was executive director of development at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she led operations, board relations, events, annual giving and internal communications.  Molly also was executive officer at BBN Technologies (a GC portfolio company acquired by Raytheon Company in 2009) where she focused on business strategy and operations, worked with the Board of Directors and management team to consummate the sale of the company, and co-led integration into Raytheon.  Prior to BBN, Molly was vice president of communications at General Catalyst from 2001 to 2007, responsible for investor relations, marketing, public relations and internal communications.  Prior to that, she held marketing positions at AssetPlanner and State Street Research & Management. 

Molly earned a B.A. in English from Mount St. Mary’s College and an M.A. in Publishing from Emerson College.
