Our Investment in Kandji

Empowering Secure, Productive Work for Enterprise Device Fleets
Our Investment in Kandji

Today, we’re proud to lead Kandji’s $100M financing round, which includes a $50M equity investment and a continued $50M go-to-market investment via our Customer Value strategy

We’ve known Adam and the Kandji team for several years and are inspired by their relentless reinvention of the mobile device management (MDM) space. To say they understand it intimately would be an understatement - Kandji represents the culmination of decades of work in an ecosystem that Adam and his team understand down to its very marrow.

Growing up in the Bay Area tech mecca, Adam Pettit inherited his father’s Apple enthusiast gene, which inspired him to start his own Apple IT support business as a high school sophomore. He continued this venture throughout his high school years. Once out of college, Adam’s entrepreneurial spirit manifested in starting a consulting firm, and in 2009, he dove back into the Apple segment when he co-founded Interlaced, an Apple-focused managed services provider which was acquired in 2018. Shortly thereafter, his enthusiasm for the Apple IT space fueled the founding of Kandji, the modern Apple MDM solution built for IT teams that run on Apple products.

His timing was prescient - the proliferation of virtual work and growing adoption of Apple products in the enterprise ecosystem have created new imperatives for extended IT infrastructure. Atop these structural shifts in enterprise IT, Kandji built a rock-solid foundation in delivering for its customers.

Beyond a stellar first act, we found a deeply motivated and talented team building a next-generation endpoint management and security platform - the precise audacity of ambition we seek to support with our Endurance investing practice. Kandji’s platform includes a comprehensive suite of over 150 pre-built automations, apps, and templates that relieves an IT administrator from the tedious aspects of their work so they can focus on fulfilling higher-order strategic objectives - and this is just the beginning.

Adam and team’s mindset to building an enduring business spans beyond just the product and company they have built. They have been deeply thoughtful in constructing a capital stack that aligns their different sources of capital with their uses of capital. Kandji will continue to scale its GTM investments via the Customer Value strategy and scale its product and technology investments via the equity capital. This gives the business a flexible balance sheet to build with a long term orientation. It is rare that we come across such a capital allocation mindset in a founder.

Our GC investment team—Deep, Pranav, Chris, Alex, and Amanda—are excited to harness our collective decades of product, operational, finance, and technology expertise to support Adam and the Kandji team in the next growth phase of their remarkable journey.
