Our Investment in Armis

Securing the Enterprise's Most Critical Assets

We’re thrilled to announce our $200M co-lead Series D investment in Armis to bolster global resilience by securing the enterprise’s most essential assets — on the ground and in the cloud.

Our global resilience thesis underlines our commitment to investing in dynamic, resilient systems across the most critical industries — defense and intelligence, industrials, healthcare, fintech, and climate and energy —  to meet the moment of burgeoning global power competition. In tandem, our worldview posits that applied AI will drive this wave of innovation and adoption, ushering in transformation at scale.

In our hyperconnected and perpetually evolving world, how can we ensure our assets — from physical assets like nuclear power plants and planes to digital assets like IT systems, operational technology, medical devices, or cloud infrastructure — are protected at all times? We believe this exponentially growing web of connectivity will only expand over the AI era, increasing the surface area for potential cyber threats.

Yevgeny and Nadir founded Armis in 2015 to address this problem by enhancing enterprise visibility, security, and attack surface management. Their passion for the problem and commitment to their customers is evident in every interaction we have had with them. We could not be more excited to support their journey in becoming a true “power law” company — we believe they are well on their way, having already achieved the $200M ARR mark.

In 2015, at the advent of Armis, the cybersecurity market, as we understood it, had not yet seen a technical team equipped to address the complexity of assets scattered across multiple geographies, technology footprints, and time zones. Yevgeny and Nadir’s obsessive appreciation for their customers, including United Airlines, Colgate Palmolive, Mondelez, Reckitt, and more, is their North Star. Illustratively, our first in-person meeting with Yevgeny was over an early breakfast near San Francisco International Airport. Little did we know that he had just taken a redeye and carved time to meet with a customer before our meeting. This is just one example of the customer obsession Yevgeny and the rest of the team exhibit.

In our view, building an enduring cybersecurity company typically takes shape in one of two ways. The first is managing or protecting a new surface area — an endpoint, network, or cloud infrastructure. The other path entails reimagining how we protect a surface area and displacing an incumbent. Both usually occur amidst a technological shift. We believe Armis has the benefit of these dual tailwinds: not only owning a new and emerging surface area in physical assets, but also benefiting from the transformative nature of applied AI in how we think about the surface area of IT assets. Add on their new products in remediation, and we believe Armis is just getting started.

We are grateful to partner with Yevgeny, Nadir, and the entire Armis team as they expand what’s possible for cybersecurity. The Armis story is just beginning in many ways, and we are honored to be a small part of it.
