I acquired my respect for entrepreneurs through my own journey as a founder. As a freshman at Amherst, I jumped at the opportunity to operate my own business, providing summer and year-round storage solutions for students at Amherst College, UMASS, Mt. Holyoke, Smith, and Hampshire. It was a formative experience -- hiring, staying ahead of the competition and making the numbers. When I graduated, I sought out a role in finance to gain a deeper understanding of the underlying metrics that make a business successful.

Working closely with investors and entrepreneurs at JMI and Cove Hill showed me how complex and wonderful those roles and relationships could be. Companies are living, breathing organisms, and founders are the forces of nature that drive them. The best investors are endlessly curious; they not only want to learn from previous experiences, but they also want to discover entirely new ways to support the success of a team and company.

The drive to help identify and collaborate with impactful founders across the technology ecosystem is what ultimately led me to General Catalyst. I am most excited about working with the team to help unlock the knowledge and expertise across the General Catalyst network.

My passion away from work is soccer. I captained the men’s team at Amherst and still love the game, whether it’s watching matches or getting onto the field on weekends. Although a little slower than I was, I enjoy the competition and being part of a team. Outside of the pitch, you can find me finding a good weekend trip.
