Our Investment in Fabric Health

Creating a Seamless Patient Engagement Experience

Community

The consumer experience in healthcare has a reputation for falling short of expectations. In a recent study run by The Beryl Institute, 60% of surveyed Americans reported having a negative patient experience in the past 3 months. While sectors like banking have made substantial strides in improving consumer experiences over time, healthcare remains plagued by persistent challenges, including prolonged wait times, opacity in pricing and treatment options, and the cumbersome process of scheduling appointments.

Compounding these issues are the workforce challenges faced by healthcare organizations. Provider shortages and increasing administrative workloads have led to unprecedented levels of clinician burnout. At General Catalyst, a core component of our Health Assurance vision is leveraging technology to enable a cohesive environment for both patients and providers, creating a more proactive and equitable system of care.

Today, we are proud to announce that General Catalyst led Fabric Health’s $60M Series A financing. We think Fabric’s unified care enablement platform powers a truly seamless care experience for patients across a variety of settings, including emergency departments, telemedicine, and in-person care. At the same time, we believe Fabric increases clinical capacity and efficiency through intelligent intake, triage, treatment, and workflow automation.

We have long admired founder Aniq Rahman’s dedication to driving innovative and strategic change within healthcare. In our view, one of the most challenging aspects of healthcare is aligning the diverse settings, services, and experiences that even a single patient encounters. Aniq deeply understands this pain point. Under his leadership, Fabric has strategically acquired industry-leading teams and products, such as Zipnosis, a frontrunner in asynchronous care and clinical decision support, and GYANT, a trailblazer in conversational AI and patient engagement.

We are excited to collaborate with Aniq and the entire Fabric team as they work toward pioneering a care delivery system that is not only faster and smarter, but fundamentally better for all patients.
