I am the Chief Public Policy Officer at General Catalyst Institute. I bring over 15 years of government and industry expertise, having worked on a range of important issues related to national security and tech policy.

I began my career as a litigation attorney but soon realized my passion was to serve in government, where I could work on complex foreign policy issues the U.S. was facing abroad. While at the U.S. Department of State and The White House’s National Security Council, I worked on national security challenges the U.S. was facing in the Middle East, such as the Iran nuclear talks, the Benghazi attack, and the destabilization throughout the region due to the Syrian civil war.

The use of technology during the Arab Spring sparked my interest in joining the tech sector. I first joined Twitter’s Public Policy team, followed by leading Google’s Emerging Markets portfolio for their Government Affairs team. At both Twitter and Google, I worked on a range of issues, including countering violent extremism and connecting the next billion users to the internet. Most recently, I joined General Catalyst from Booking Holdings, where I led the company’s public policy strategy for all their brands (Booking.com, Kayak, Priceline, and Agoda) throughout the Americas.

I obtained my undergraduate degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. I attended Santa Clara University Law School and earned a Master’s Certificate in Public Administration from the University of Virginia. I am licensed to practice law in California. I speak Spanish and am conversant in French and Farsi. I am based in Washington, DC, where I live with my husband and daughter.
